In this a paper a few issues a related to factor intensity are investigated to highlight the overall growth and structural changes in the manufacturing industries of Bangladesh in the post-independence period. The general pattern of growth and change in the industrial economy has been described. Thus the changes in macro-economic variables like employment output, value-added, labour, capital etc. in the mant facturing industries of Bangladesh have been analysed. The definitions of the variables used in the analysis are listed in an appendix to this paper.
